In this episode of Mind of a Geek, Nate and Brandon sit down with content creator and Dungeon Crawler Carl superfan Rhae Lamp for a conversation that covers books, fandom, cosplay, and the wonderfully weird world of LitRPG. Rhae talks about how she discovered Dungeon Crawler Carl and how the series quickly became a creative escape and inspiration. That enthusiasm eventually led to her own take on Prepotente, turning one of the series' most ridiculous characters into a cosplay and comedy vehicle.

Naturally, once Dungeon Crawler Carl enters the conversation, things get appropriately out of hand. The group dives into what makes the series so compelling, including its characters, audiobook performances, worldbuilding, fan communities, rereading the books, and the seemingly endless details hidden throughout the story. Rhae also shares her experience participating in a live book club that worked its way through the series chapter by chapter, proving that there is apparently a perfectly reasonable amount of time to spend dissecting a book about people trapped in a deadly dungeon.

The conversation eventually expands beyond DCC into the wider geek landscape, including video games, fantasy, adaptations, fandom, and the challenge of keeping up with everything there is to read, watch, and play. Nate, Brandon, and Rhae bounce between their various geek obsessions while discussing why certain stories stick with us and how fan communities can transform something we enjoy privately into something much bigger.

Rhae also shares how cosplay has become a way to introduce people to books and characters they may never have encountered otherwise. Alongside Prepotente, she has explored characters from other LitRPG stories, using cosplay as both a creative outlet and a conversation starter for discovering independent authors and new worlds. Episode 6 is ultimately a celebration of the things that make fandom fun: finding a story you love, getting a little too obsessed with it, and then finding other wonderfully weird people who are just as excited to talk about it.
